Start Planning Now for the HCSNet SummerFest 2009 Big Bang!

This is the last SummerFest that will take place under the auspices of HCSNet, since our five-year funding from the Australian Research Council runs out in 2010. So, we're going out with a bang, bringing together an unprecedented number of research communities under one roof, and forming links with a variety of other events happening under other roofs around the same time.

HCSNet SummerFest '09 takes place at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, and runs from Monday 30th November to Friday 4th December 2009. As well as our usual complement of summer school courses by internationally-renowned researchers, our skills sessions and our speed papers session, this year SummerFest includes the following constituent events:

• The HCSNet Workshop on Interacting with Intelligent Virtual Characters (IIVC)
• The HCSNet Workshop on Building the Australian National Corpus: Data Sources and Tools (AusNC)
• The Second International Conference on Music Communication Science (ICoMCS2)
• The Australasian Language Technology Workshop 2009 (ALTA09)
• The Australasian Document Computing Symposium (ADCS09)
• The Australian Language and Speech Conference (ALAS09) including OzPhon 2009

There are also a number of related events happening outside Sydney for which HCSNet is a major sponsor:
